Short answer
Not yet from within the app — there's currently no button to add an asset to a routine that already exists. You can remove items (unlink or delete a sub-task), but not add. It's on the roadmap. In the meantime, send Civic.ly a link to the asset and a link to the routine and we'll add it for you (usually same day). Once added, the new asset is picked up in every future cycle automatically, the same as the rest.
Detail
Play areas and equipment sets change over time — a swing gets removed, a new bin goes in, you buy another picnic bench. When that happens to a routine you've already set up:
- Removing an asset works today: open the relevant sub-task in the routine and unlink or delete it.
- Adding an asset isn't available in the interface yet. Don't rebuild the whole routine to add one item — that loses your history and is far more work than it's worth.
- The interim route: message Civic.ly the link to the asset (open it → copy the page link) and the link to the routine, ask us to add it, and we'll slot it into the routine's future cycles for you.
When the in-app feature lands you'll be able to do this yourself; we'll let you know.
Watch-outs
- Same frequency. You can only add an asset to a routine if it's inspected/serviced on the same schedule as that routine. If it needs a different frequency, it belongs in a different routine.
- Adding ≠ rebuilding. Resist the urge to delete and recreate a routine just to add one asset — keep the existing routine and ask us to add the item.
- Removing is permanent-ish. Deleting a sub-task removes it from future cycles; if you only want to skip one occurrence, complete or cancel that single task instead.
