Short answer

Yes — select the asset(s) on the assets list and add them straight into an existing routine (or a new one) from there. No need to rebuild the routine or ask Civic.ly to do it for you. The new asset is picked up in every future cycle automatically, the same as the rest.

Play areas and equipment sets change over time — a swing gets removed, a new bin goes in, you buy another picnic bench. When that happens to a routine you've already set up:

  • Removing an asset works the same as before: open the relevant sub-task in the routine and unlink or delete it.
  • Adding an asset: from the Asset Register, either open the three vertical dots at the end of a single asset's row and choose Add to Routine, or tick several assets and use Add to Routine in the action bar at the bottom (next to Create Routine — check you've picked the right one).
  • The Add to Routine dialog lists your routines with name, task number, due date, recurrence and status, and you can search by name or number. Pick the one you want.
  • The routine opens with the new assets appended to the bottom of the Related Tasks grid, flagged NEW. Set the Task Type, Checklist Template and Assignees on each — they won't save without a task type and at least one assignee.
  • Click Update Routine and choose Update this routine ONLY or Apply to the [frequency] series from [date]. Pick the series option if the asset is a permanent addition to the round.
  • Don't rebuild the whole routine from scratch to add one item — that's no longer necessary.

Watch-outs

  • Same frequency. An asset you add takes on the routine's existing schedule. If it needs a different frequency, it belongs in a different routine, not bolted onto this one.
  • Removing is permanent-ish. Deleting a sub-task asks whether to remove it from this occurrence or from all future ones in the series. If you only want to skip one occurrence, delete from that instance alone — or complete/cancel the single task instead.
  • Unlink is not delete. Unlinking takes the task off the round but keeps the inspection or job in the list, still needing doing. Delete removes it outright.
  • Adding to the series is a scope choice. If you choose "this routine only", the new asset lands on that occurrence and nowhere else.
